               CHAPTER-1:1:10 (NEW SETTLERS)-DAY-10                 

    Eli and Ami Jankowsky were up early and got ready for the day at Garden House quickly before they ended up working in the garden to get as much produce harvested as they could before they had to quit work for the day.
     They were wanting to get their house built before winter set in because they'd heard it could get very snowy sometimes in the winter and that would stop them from any building until spring.They would be happy to just get the first part of their house built before winter arrived and it started snowing.It was going to be tough going for a while in the new hometown until more people arrived.

    It was starting to get dark outside and it was 7PM when they were finished with the gardening and had finally gotten done with the cleaning up from working so they could go to the store to sell the produce.It had gotten late and they earned almost 1000$ for their efforts which would pay for the materials for the next section of wall they were building for the day.
    They decided to get over to their own lot after eating dinner to check on things there and get a new section of the walls up for their house.They were looking back on how they struggled just to get enough to eat and to have a place to live in the old country where times were hard.

    They both stopped at the home lot and managed to get the mess cleaned up and bills got paid before the next section of wall went up on their new house which had to be built before cold fall and winter weather began to set in.
     It was getting to be about 8PM and they had to hurry it up so they could get into bed though it looked like they'd have to spend a night at Garden House again.This was how it had been back in Russia before they immigrated to North America to settle out West in Oak Leaf,South Dakota where they had a homestead waiting for them.They both felt that gave them a better future.

     Eli and Ami got done and rushed back to Garden House at 8:30 in the evening and were trying to get into bed before 9PM.They both ended up needing washrooms before going to sleep and ended up not getting to sleep until 9PM because of that.
