CHAPTER-1:1:9 (NEW SETTLERS)-DAY-9
Eli and Ami Jankowsky were both up fairly early that Monday morning though it was already fully light outside at 5AM.They'd spent the night at Garden House because it was the smart thing to do when they had become sick and needed flu shots they couldn't get in the summer.They were both grateful to have the free use of Garden House.
It was looking like it would be another very hot and sunny summer day and they were hoping to have enough money to be able to get started on building their own house before the cold weather set in.
Eli and Ami were both heading out to start working in the garden since they were both over the illness by 7AM and they wanted to get some produce harvested so it could be sold at the grocery store for enough cash to allow them to be able to start the house build.
It was a very hot dry day and they were both dressed for the hot weather at the time.It was hard work getting produce harvested though it would make them about 750$ each day which was more than they'd earn working at a steady job at the entry level or at a part time job.
Eli and Ami were both finished with working in the garden by 5PM and wanted to get cleaned up and eat dinner before heading to the grocery store to sell the produce they'd harvested from the garden and they both earned 800$ that day though they did stop to use the washrooms at Garden House and to eat before they left for the shopping plaza.
It was 6:30 when they finally left to sell their produce and they would be heading to their own lot to clean up the mess there and to start the first section of wall for their new house which would shelter them.
It was expected that the house would be very small and wouldn't have much room for anything because they were starting to run out of time to get a house built before the weather could turn very cold and nasty with the arrival of fall.
They had to make sure the ground around the house site was very flat and smooth or the build wouldn't work and they'd not be able to get it done in time for the cold season and the wet weather they'd get in the fall and the cold in the winter.They also wanted to get the house built so they could take part time jobs.
Eli and Ami were both studying skills for a short while before going to bed when they returned to garden House after selling their produce at the grocery store and starting on building their house so they could have shelter on their own lot.
It was getting dark outside and it was already 7:30 by the time they started studying which meant they'd only study for an hour before having to get into bed for the night.The sleeping on a public lot was similar to how it had been in the old country though it was only on nights they were sick or it got too cold.
Eli and Ami were both finished studying by 8:30 in the evening and wanted to get themselves into bed though they both needed the washroom and were both starving and couldn't get to sleep until they both used the washrooms and got something to eat first.
It was already getting very late when they were finally finished with the washrooms and looking to eat so they could only grab juice boxes from the fridge to deal with their hunger so they could both get into bed and sleep for the night without being woken up to eat.
Eli was finished first because she used the upstairs washroom and had a shower while Ami went downstairs and ended up needing a bath instead of taking a shower so he ended up being still up at 10PM though Eli was already in bed and had been asleep since 9:30.
